Monolithic Glass Stackwall®/Vision Vue® Systems: Oldcastle Glass® offers an exclusive line of Structural Wall Glass Systems including; Stackwall®, Finwall® and Vision Vue®. Most monolithic Stackwall®/Vision Vue® Systems incorporate 1/2" (12mm) monolithic clear float glass main plates, although some designers may want to use PPG Starphire® or Pilkington Optiwhite™ low-iron float glass.

1/2" (12mm) float glass is also available in bronze and gray tints.

Under certain lighting conditions, both tempered and heat-strengthened glass may exhibit a strain pattern or iridescent color, which is not normally visible. A regional strain pattern, not visible under many lighting conditions, may be detected when polarized light is reflected or transmitted by the glass (light can be easily polarized in the laboratory, and under certain conditions, normal daylight becomes polarized). All of these are characteristics of tempered and heat-strengthened glass and are not defects.

Other main plate colors are available by using the wide variety of 1/4" (6mm) glasses listed below. A colored main plate is produced by laminating a tinted 1/4" (6mm) lite to a lite of 1/4" (6mm) clear tempered glass with an 0.060" thick interlayer making an overall main plate thickness of 9/16" (14mm) nominal.

All 3/4" (19mm) tempered glass fins are fabricated from clear float glass. Fins may also incorporate using laminated glass.

IG Stackwall®/Vision Vue® and IG Finwall® Systems: Most IG Stackwall®/Vision Vue® and IG Finwalls incorporate 1 1/8"to 1 5/16" insulating glass (IG) main plates with an outboard lite of clear float glass (usually 3/8" (10mm) thick or thicker) and an inboard lite of 1/4" (6mm) clear float (or low-e) glass. The outboard lite must be A minimum of 3/8" (10mm) thick in order to resist wind loading and hardware requirements in most applications.

3/8" (10mm) thick glass is available in clear and low-iron (Starphire® or Optiwhite™), as well as bronze and grey tints.

Other outboard lite colors are available by using the wide variety of 1/4" (6mm) glasses listed below. A colored outboard lite is produced by laminating a tinted 1/4" (6mm) lite to a lite of 1/4" (6mm) clear tempered glass with an 0.060" thick interlayer making an overall main plate thickness of 9/16" (14mm) nominal.

All 3/4" (19mm) tempered glass fins are fabricated from clear glass. Fins may also incorporate using laminated glass.

Please note that the thickness of the monolithic or IG makeup will be determined by wind loading, hardware and system design.
